Sports and Tourist complex "Gorniy Vozdukh" is located in the heart of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, it is in close proximity to the airport, within walking distance of restaurants, hotels, entertainment venuesas well as transport routes.
Currently the "Gorniy Vozdukh" complex includes "Bolshevik" Mountain (601 m. above sea level) and Mount "Krasnaya". "Krasnaya" Mountain is the highest point on the Complex - 779 meters above sea level – it is almost 200 meters higher than the neighboring "Bolshevik" Mountain.
On top of the mountain you can find a picturesque view of the sea – "Aniva" Bay, the "Susunai" lowland, where you can not only see the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, but also Korsakov, Troitskoye and even Aniva.
Today "Gorniy Vozdukh" is rightfully considered the best ski resort in the Far East. "Gorniy Vozdukh" is the winner of the "Leaders of the Sports Industry" award. In 2019, the Complex took first place in the nomination "Facilities available for various categories of low-mobility groups of the population" and second place in the nomination "Facilities for winter sports". In 2021, the OAU "STK "Gorniy Vozdukh" was awarded the "Ski Business Awards 2021".
Winter season
The "Gorniy Vozdukh" opens the winter season in mid-December, which lasts until the end of April. The thickness of snow is up to 2 meters. The complex also has ski slopes security system with mats, safety nets A and B.
In 2018 the Welcome Center (entrance group) opened its doors at the sports and tourism complex "Gorniy Vozdukh", which meets all the requirements for the reception of low-mobility groups of citizens (an accessibility passport was obtained). It houses a restaurant, a coffee shop, changing rooms, ski rentals and workshops, storage, an information center.
The "Gorniy Vozdukh" complex operates all year round.
In the summer, residents and visitors of the city come here to study outdoors. The Complex hosts free training sessions on general physical fitness, yoga, mountain biking. Various recreational activities and hiking along eco-trails that run through the Complex are organized.
The Gorniy Vozdukh complex has five bike trails with a total length of about five kilometers, designed for downhill mountain biking.
